Interpretation of Film 

40 weeks; one credit

The Interpretation of Film course provides students with the skills and vocabulary necessary to make meaning of film through formal analysis. This course introduces students to the different organizational structures of film, including narrative films, documentary and experimental, which will further enhance their understanding of genre specific films. Students will be expected to produce multiple pieces of writing and short films in order to articulate their understanding.

Advanced Film

40 weeks; one credit

Prerequisite: Interpretation of Film

This is an advanced level course that is a continuation of Interpretation of Film. Students will develop their unique point of view as film makers and create work that represents their style of visual storytelling while learning advanced film techniques for pre-production, production and post-production. Students will prepare a portfolio suitable for college entrance, festivals and the workplace.
